We presented Gavius at two meetings in Cadiz and Craiova where public innovation and citizen participation was discussed.

  • The IX Public Innovation Congress held in Cadiz focused on innovation aspects of the administration and how to make it more accessible to citizens.
  • The meeting in Romania was aimed at finding out how to involve citizens more in the initiatives promoted by the public administration.

Disseminating the project nationally and internationally in talks, congresses and presentations has always been one of the goals of Gavius. The creation of a virtual tool that uses artificial intelligence to recommend social aids to citizens in order to speed up procedures with the administration, is a totally innovative project that needs to be publicized. The aim is that other Spanish and European cities can assess whether the project is interesting and useful enough to implement it in their administrations once it be completed.

The Project Manager, Mònica Sagredo, and the Deputy Mayor of the Central Services Area of the city of Gavà, Jordi Tort, traveled from October 19 to 21 to Cadiz to present Gavius within the IX Congress of Public Innovation. At this congress on new governance, special emphasis was placed on values, technology and people to harness the full potential of public organizations. Jordi Tort explained how the Gavius project can modernize the administration, with a digital tool that will facilitate the relationship between citizens and the city council. All aimed at making administration easy, empathetic and accessible to people.

To continue with these dissemination tasks, Mònica Sagredo also traveled to Romania, specifically to Craiova, between October 26 and 29. In an event organized by the Camelot project, and within the Europe for Citizens program, our project manager participated in a round table to exchange experiences of projects with democratic commitment. She was able to explain Gàvius, his co-creation process and how local administrations can get citizens actively and democratically involved.

In addition to congresses and conferences, Gàvius also regularly participates in competitions and awards for innovative projects that bring value to citizens. This is the case of the Ted Awards Barcelona, which will be held on November 16 as part of the TedxBarcelona event and for which we have submitted our candidature. One more way to disseminate our project
