Gàvius passes the test of citizenship with 5 pilot tests of the virtual assistant
- For a month, sessions have been organized for different groups and ages with the aim of validating the application.
- The proposals and suggestions of the participants will be taken into account to improve the different screens of Gàvius.
The Gàvius application has already passed the filter of the citizenship. During the month of October, 62 people were able to test the virtual assistant and give their opinion on its usability. The most common suggestions have been on how to make the texts more understandable, on incorporating graphic elements to make navigation easier and on what kind of information they would like to find in this tool.
The pilot tests were divided by age group. The first one was done with elderly people, in the second one we collected the opinions of the beneficiaries of social services, the third one was addressed to the general public and in the last one the participants were young people. All of them had the same dynamics: a presentation of the activity was made, the attendees were asked to carry out different navigation actions, doubts were solved and suggestions were heard and finally they had to fill in a questionnaire to evaluate the pilot test from different aspects.

1ST SESSION: ELDERLY PEOPLE. 10 PEOPLE GROUP
This is the group that expressed the most doubts, largely because they have a more limited technological knowledge. In this sense, many participants found it difficult to “read” the icons and get to the menu or home page. Confusion was generated with the titles chosen for certain aids and they were not sure how to proceed with the simulator, especially due to page layout and buttons to advance. On the other hand, they found the texts comprehensible and the navigation simple as a whole. However, 70% needed help from the technicians and trainers attending.

2ND SESSION: SOCIAL SERVICES BENEFICIARIES. 10 PEOPLE GROUP
Technological knowledge was somewhat higher in this session. The attendees were even interested in the digital identification mechanisms that will be required to login Gàvius. The main difficulties encountered had to do with the clarity of the texts: all the aids must be found under the same concept on the different screens and ask for subcategories of help. They also did not see clearly where to change language, and most reached the information by scrolling backwards with the arrows and not by going to the menu. However, in general their assessment was positive and they found the tool easy to navigate and very useful for citizens.

3TH AND 4TH SESSION: CITIZENSHIP 2 GROUPS OF 12 PEOPLE EACH
very fast and agile navigation They found few drawbacks and appreciated that the tool was simple, agile and convenient. Their evaluations were proposals for improvement, with a focus on facilitating its use by the entire population. They suggested increasing the font size and that the language change could be searched for under the concept language or the icon of a flag and not by searching for the initials of the language you are navigating with (CAT, ESP, ENG). Also that the list of help is in alphabetical order, that the search engine shows you the predictive text or that the keyword is easier to find. Also, when there is an error in a field it will tell you why it is incorrect, among other things.

5TH SESSION: YOUNG PEOPLE
This was the fastest session of all. Young people between the ages of 18 and 28 tested the tool and had no problems at all in terms of navigation, due to their high technological knowledge. The only drawback was finding how to change the language, exactly the same as in the previous sessions. On this occasion, the most complicated part was the comprehension of some texts, as they considered it a useful tool for more adult people.

With all these opinions, we will be able to draw final conclusions to improve Gàvius, with a view to its final presentation. Another purpose of these sessions, and others that have been and will be held during the project, is that the citizens can actively participate in the process of creating the tool. A tool that should make life easier for the entire population when dealing with the administration.
