Gavius is an innovative project to create a smart and virtual assistant of the local administration. With an innovative use of data that prioritises the privacy of users, it will communicate to citizens the social benefits available to them. It will also be used to process, grant and perceive them in a convenient, fast and simple way through a mobile application. This, through artificial intelligence techniques on aggregated data, will be able to recommend the necessary procedures to users.

Who is driving the Gàvius project?
On August 26, 2019, Gavius was chosen from 175 projects submitted to the fourth call for Urban Innovative Actions (UIA). This is a European Union initiative, funded by the ERDF fund, which provides cities across Europe with resources to test bold, innovative, and unproven solutions to address the ongoing urban challenges.
The UIA supports cities or urban groups with a total population of at least 50,000. That is why Gavà and Mataró came together to present a joint candidacy that will generate a real positive change for its citizens.
80% of the project’s activities are funded by the UIA, which will transfer the knowledge that will be generated to the other member states of the European Union.
